Dear Mom

There was a bowl that someone had apparently washed and dried sitting next to the sink in our office kitchen. Inside was a yellow sticky note which read:

Dear Mom,

I am almost 30 years old now and I still don’t know how to wash my own dishes. Please come to the office some time and show me.

Dietary Guidelines 2005

Four fruits and five vegetables a day Three cups of milk a day‽ 60 minutes of moderate to vigorous exercise daily‽ The 2005 Dietary Guidelines for Americans seem to apply better to a calf than a computer professional.

Rochester VOIP

To save money, I decided to switch to VOIP. The big player is Vonage. They spend huge amounts on advertising and charge $25/month for unlimited calling. There are several other companies that offer $20/month calling but are less well-known. I decided to pick one of those. I chose Packet8, partly because they told me they had Enhanced 911 (E-911) in my area. Vonage was still rolling it out.
