Laptop Benefit #8

Benefit of having a laptop as your primary work machine #8:

When the power goes out (and your employer doesn’t have a UPS for non-server computers), you can keep working.

And this also reminds me of my Windows tip-of-the-day:

When your second monitor goes blank (because, say, the power went out), you can move windows to the live (laptop) monitor. Press Alt-Space, R, Alt-Space, M. You can then use the mouse (which popped over to the window’s title bar) or the arrow keys to move the window to where you can see it.

We’ve been robbed!

It would appear that over Labor Day weekend, someone stole Tara’s debit card.

There is currently a criminal investigation being conducted. More details will be released at the conclusion of the matter.

Macaroni and Cheese Disaster Averted

We received the following postcard in the mail:

The directions on the box in the cupboard had 5 minutes for step 2.

Wow. Imagine if we had been out of clean pots and had to use the microwave directions. What a disaster that could have been! Thanks, Danny.

I’m guessing that Wegmans’ profit margin for macaroni and cheese this month was pretty much eaten up in postage.
